Guest Post: Pink & Navy Stripes

The lovely Lindsay of Pink & Navy Stripes is sharing a little pink inspiration with us today to honor Breast Cancer awareness month in October. Not only does she look gorgeous - but she's rockin' pink for a very worthy cause! Read her story and check out a few of her favorite pieces.

Shirt: Gap , Jeans: J Brand, Booties:  Splendid, Sunnies: Tory Burch

I love wearing pink, especially in the month of October since it's Breast Cancer awareness month.  My grandmother passed away when I was 15 from Breast Cancer.  She fought hard and did it with the utmost class.  After she was widowed and remarried to my second Grandpa, almost her whole house was pink! It was by far her favorite color.  I mean who doesn't want a pink chiffon couch right???  So today I'm rocking a pink polka dot top in that spirit!

Guest Post: Whatever She's Got

We're thrilled to have the lovely Chelsea from Whatever She's Got as our guest blogger today! We love how Chelsea mixed so many gorgeous fall trends together {and who doesn't love that pretty pink hat?} If you haven't read Chelsea's blog, make sure to check it out - it will soon become a daily read!

Plaid normally gives me flashbacks to my Catholic high school days. It makes me think of starchy button up shirts and itchy wool sweaters, but this oh so chic take on plaid has a hint of sexy. When paired with accessories with gold details and a classic fedora, the look is anything but schoolgirl.

Guest Post: 2 Girls in Two Cities

We're thrilled to have the fabuous ladies of 2 Girls in 2 Cities sharing the cutest Halloween craft with us this Friday! We first met Amanda and Jennie {who co-write the blog} at our Chicago Bloggers Brunch, and now we're big fans of their adorable blog. Check it out if you're not obsessed already :)

Last Friday after work, my friend Natalie and I decided to have a little pumpkin date. We stopped at Trader Joe's - which has a bunch of affordable pumpkins, if you're still looking - and picked up our mini pumpkins to decorate, along with some pumpkin flavored treats for dinner. It was a great, and affordable, night (wine included), and we are already talking about the next holiday themed craft night we can plan. Handprint turkeys, anyone?

We kept it simple - just glitter and modge podge. I made each pumpkin different, and I was thrilled with the results! They add a little sparkle to my fall decor, and finally gave me a reason to use all of the craft glitter that I seem to be hoarding.

Amanda

Ohio Blogger Lunch

The lovely Ohio blogger ladies set up an amazing lunch a few weekends ago at Crave! Ashley over at The Tiniest Firecracker and AJ at Fit Traveler AJ sent over some photos and shared details of their fun event their blogs. Check out Ashley's write up and some of the fabulous photos from the event.

It all started with a tweet.
A few girls that I follow on Twitter, and I, were talking about how we miss out on meeting fellow bloggers because we’re trapped here in the Midwest, where there are no events, no fashion weeks, no nothing. Upon seeing our conversation, Midwest Style Bloggers contacted me with an interesting suggestion, “Why not host your own meet-up?” At first, I wrote it off. I’ve been blogging for less than a year and also, I’ve never even heard of another blogger in Cincinnati. Well, finally I decided, I wouldn’t ever know of another blogger in Cincinnati, if I don’t try it out.
Finally, last Saturday, the day came to head downtown and meet with these two lovely ladies! AJ (left) lives here in Cincy, and seemingly everywhere else, and Danielle (middle), bless her, drove with her husband, for 3+ hours to come have lunch. New friends and great food. What more could you ask for? Not gonna lie to ya, I was hella nervous to put this together, and my anxiety was shot through the roof when more and more people said they wouldn’t be able to make it, but I ended up having no reason to feel like that. These girls were hilarious and so easy to talk to (about a range of things)! I couldn’t have had a better time. Thanks to both ladies for joining me. Maybe next time, we’ll have a whole crew!

Kansas City Fashion Week// Trend Takeover

Today, Mary Kate from Trend Takeover is sharing her photos & recap of Kansas City Fashion Week. Check out her blog post to see even more pictures & fabulous fun. We are so impressed with the talented designers based in the Midwest! Check out her fashion week musings below:

I am still humbled by the fact I was asked by the people of KCFW to attend the event. Friday night was a lavish evening of talented designers, fashionable crowd members, and an atmosphere that, in my eyes,  surpassed the most elite designer shows I’ve seen on YouTube. Reporting on the fashion alongside many talented bloggers left me starstruck, overjoyed, and craving more. It truly was an event.

The Friday night show was exceptional. Jessi and I raved for hours about the location, mood, and designers from the event. Fashion was in the air at Union Station that evening.
